With the support of the French Institute in Prague, FAMU continues to cooperate with the Cannes Film Festival.
The Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 14 to 25, 2024.
The FAMU committee, consisting of the Dean, the Vice-Dean for International Relations, the head of the study department and the director of the FAMU Studio, will select 5 students who will represent the school.
All students will have paid accommodation at the festival venue and travel (Prague-Cannes and back). They will receive free special accreditation from the Cannes Festival, which will allow them priority access to the screenings of the Cannes Classics program section, they will also have access to films from the Un Certain Regard, Special Presentation, Séances du lendemain sections (this section includes films from the Main Competition section and films presented out of competition, which are shown the day after the festive premiere). They will also receive priority accreditation for the program of the parallel competition section Criticism Week.
Students have access to the film market and its activities intended for professionals and open to the public.
Students pay for other expenses themselves – i.e. food, transport on site, etc.
