FAMU, with the support of the French Institute in Prague, continues its cooperation with The Cannes Film Festival in 2025. The Cannes Film Festival takes place from 13 to 24 May 2025.

Note: The exact dates of FAMU's stay at the festival will be determined after the closing of applications. Expected length of stay is 7 days.

A committee consisting of the dean, the vice-dean for external relations and development and the head of the registrar office will select 5 students who will represent the school at the festival.

Each selected student will receive support from the Erasmus+ program for short-term mobility:

  • accommodation costs EUR 553 (7 days)
  • allowance of EUR 309 for transport – in the case of an ecological trip, the allowance is increased to EUR 417 (in this case, it is also possible to increase the time by travel days)
  • the contribution can be further increased individually with INCLUSION SUPPORT

The faculty will provide accommodation for 5 people in a shared apartment in Cannes. It is therefore necessary to count on shared housing.

Festival will provide students with:

  • special accreditation that will enable them
    • access to screenings of the Cannes Classics program section,
    • access to films from the Un Certain Regard, Special Presentations, Séances du lendemain sections (this section includes films from the Main Competition and out-of-competition films shown the day after the opening ceremony),
  • access to the film market and its activities intended for professionals and open to the public,
  • this year, the festival has not confirmed the organization of any special program for schools – therefore, Vít Schmarc, vice dean for external relations and development, will be available on site for FAMU students and provide them with basic orientation in the festival program (details will be agreed in advance).
INFO

Since we can support a smaller number of students than the number of accreditations offered by the festival, it is possible to obtain 5 additional accreditations without the possibility of additional financial support. If you are also interested in this option, please indicate it in the form. These accreditations will be offered to other applicants in order who do not make it to the first five selected.

Application and conditions:

  • Complete the online form (accessible from the school email) by November 25, 2024.
