Studies and Internships Abroad

Short-term intensive programs are a novelty of the Erasmus+ program, which makes it possible to promote and implement international mobility in a combination of physical and virtual activity. The aim is to encourage international connections of higher education institutions to jointly create programs for training, studying and teaching groups of students, academics or administrative staff using innovative approaches and digital tools.

FAMU can be involved in the role of coordinator (creates and coordinates the program, accepts participants from participating institutions) or in the role of participant sending its participants.

PROJECT IDEA

  • strengthening inter-institutional cooperation through the support of international multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary programmes
  • development of new courses in the form of combined mobilities
  • introduction of innovative ways of teaching, training and study (strengthening the digitization of the participating institution and strengthening digitization skills, the possibility to develop and offer modules or programs in English and build on existing study programs)
  • using the advantages of both mobility – short-term physical and virtual
  • international experience for groups of participants who cannot use the standard mobility tip for various reasons – BIP participants can be students of all fields and degrees of study, academic and administrative employees
  • initiation of interest in long-term mobility and cooperation on larger projects

FAMU AS COORDINATOR

  • on the basis of the selected project, the faculty / department is allocated funds for the implementation of the program
  • the faculty / department creates and coordinates the program, accepts participants from participating institutions

Basic conditions:

  • partners are at least 3 higher education institutions (ECHE holders) from 3 different Erasmus+ program countries (EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey)
  • 10-20 participants from participating institutions (domestic participants are not counted) - participants can be students or employees
  • the program consists of physical mobility lasting 5-30 days and virtual mobility (length not determined)
  • each BIP must be allocated at least 3 ECTS
  • support in a valid inter-institutional agreement (IIA)
  • compliance with the rules of project implementation

Funding:

  • the solver of the selected BIP project is allocated financial resources according to the number of mandatory participants (15-20) of the program
  • the funds are intended for the preparation, design, development, coordination, implementation and follow-up of the BIP, in particular for:
    • preparation of teaching materials
    • space and equipment rental
    • communication activities, translation and interpretation
    • preparatory visits and administrative tasks
    • refreshments (coffee-breaks) during the program
    • trips and excursions that are part of the program
    • rewards for teachers, trainers or administrative staff

Howto:

  • submit an application by sending the completed form (see below) to the email – international.relations@famu.cz
    • it is possible to submit an application once a year via the form (see below) to the relevant faculty coordinator
    • the upcoming application deadline for the upcoming academic year is always the end of January – candidates will be notified of the results by the end of April
  • project approval, allocation of funds
  • signature of the Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA)
  • selection process for foreign participants (optional)
  • selection procedure for domestic participants (employees / students - mandatory)
  • administrative process (project manager in cooperation with the international department of FAMU and AMU)
  • preparatory work on the project (drawing of funds)
  • implementation of activities
  • project evaluation (elaboration of the final report and billing)

FAMU AS PARTICIPANT

  • at the choice of the department / faculty, students or staff may participate in a programme organized by a foreign coordinating institution
  • mobility of students or employees lasting 5-30 days is financed from the Erasmus+ budget

Conditions:

  • support in the applicable Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA)
  • compliance with the rules of project implementation

Funding:

  • From its Erasmus+ budget, FAMU will provide BIP participants with an allowance for a stay at the receiving (coordinating) institution in the standard amount for short-term mobility
  • all participants are entitled to a one-off travel allowance depending on the distance of the destination institution + the option to add 2-6 funded travel days
  • for participants with special needs, the amount may be increased even further according to the rules of INCLUSION support.​​​​

Howto:

  • the department addresses the relevant coordinator with the idea of ​​participating in a foreign combined program via email – international.relations@famu.cz – always before the end of January, for participation in programs held in the coming academic year – candidates will be informed about the results by the end of April
  • selection procedure for participants (department / faculty)
  • grant of a grant for the implementation of the trip
  • departure evaluation (documentation of the necessary post-departure documentation)
