In January 2023, a masterclass by American director Robert Eggers and cinematographer Jarin Blaschko took place at FAMU - a pair whose credits include films such as The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman.

"The Masterclass with Robert Eggers was a great experience for me as a moderator. He arrived in good spirits and ready for questions of all kinds. A pleasant surprise for me was the enormous interest of the students, who did not stop asking about the things they were interested in from beginning to end. Because of that, I didn't even have time to ask all the questions I had prepared for the master, but it didn't really matter at all. On the contrary, there were topics that I had not planned," commented Jan Jindřich Karásek, a screenwriting student at FAMU, on the experience of intensive discussion within the masterclass. Almost eighty people took part in the masterclass of this renowned filmmaking duo, which has worked with actors such as Willem Dafoe, Anya Taylor-Joy and Robert Pattinson.
