Hungarian film director Béla Tarr visited FAMU in November. Fifteen students took part in the intensive mentoring programme led by Tarr over two weeks and fourteen films were made. The students appreciated Tarr’s honest, open, and perceptive approach to making films, thinking about film, critical thinking beyond the confines of common context, and the opportunities to talk to Béla Tarr during one-on-one consultations.
