FAMU continues its cooperation with The Cannes Film Festival in 2026. Festival takes place from 12 to 21 May 2025.

Dates of the FAMU stay at the festival were set to May 15 to 21, 2026.

The Cannes Film Festival and the concurrent film market Marché du Film are the largest film event in the world every year, regularly attended by around 15,000 film professionals from 140 countries in recent years. The market regularly hosts around 500 exhibitors, including 300 sales companies and around 60 national pavilions. Around 100 film professionals regularly travel to Cannes from the Czech Republic.

OPEN CALL and FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION

A committee consisting of the dean, the vice-dean for external relations and development and the head of the registrar office will select 4 students who will represent the school at the festival.

Each selected student will receive support from the Erasmus+ program for short-term traineeship from which they will cover their living expenses (meals, local transportation, transportation to and from Cannes).

The faculty will provide accommodation in a shared apartment in Cannes. It is therefore necessary to count on shared housing.

  • financial contribution for living expenses 553 EUR (7 days, incl. travel days)
  • a contribution of 309 EUR for transportation  – in the case of an ecological trip, the allowance is increased to 417 EUR (in this case, it is also possible to increase the time by travel days)
  • the contribution can be further increased individually with INCLUSION SUPPORT

Festival will provide students

  • special accreditation that will enable them
    • access to screenings of the Cannes Classics program section,
    • access to films from the Un Certain Regard, Special Presentations, Séances du lendemain sections (this section includes films from the Main Competition and out-of-competition films shown the day after the opening ceremony),
  • access to the film market and its activities intended for professionals and open to the public
INFO

Since we can support a smaller number of students than the number of accreditations offered by the festival, it is possible to obtain 4 additional accreditations without the possibility of additional financial support. If you are also interested in this option, please indicate it in the form. These accreditations will be offered to other applicants in order who do not make it to the first five selected.
