MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION BETWEEN FAMU AND THE LITOMĚŘICE FILM FESTIVAL (FIFELI)

FAMU and FIFELI have a long-standing partnership, which they formalized this year by signing a joint memorandum on July 27, 2026.

Both parties expressed interest in long-term cooperation focused primarily on supporting the development of young film talent and FAMU students, raising awareness among both professionals and the general public about contemporary and innovative audiovisual works, and strengthening the connection between the academic environment and cultural practice.

This collaboration will be carried out primarily through the presentation of FAMU student films in the FIFELI festival program; the involvement of FAMU students in the festival’s organization, production, and programming; the organization of workshops, masterclasses, expert discussions, and other educational activities with the participation of faculty, students, alumni, and other FAMU experts; the shared use of expertise, contacts, and facilities of both parties; and the implementation of additional cultural, educational, and networking activities within the framework of the FIFELI festival or the Litoměřice Creative and Cultural Center, which includes the year-round creative hub Kinoklub Ostrov.

The FIFELI Festival will enable FAMU students to gain practical experience through internships, assistant roles, volunteer work, or professional placements. FAMU will strive to involve faculty, students, and other experts in selected program sections of the festival and related activities. Both parties may also jointly organize special screenings, exhibitions, professional publications, discussion programs, or other projects reflecting current film and audiovisual productions.
