FIDMARSEILLE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL: A CALL FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE

FAMU students can participate in the 36th FIDMarseille International Film Festival, which will take place on July 8 – 13, 2025. 

Every year the festiva welcomes many students from art and cinema schools in France and Europe, to whom we offer a personalized journey through the programming of the current edition. 

4 selected students will have the opportunity to obtain: 

• Accreditation 

• a one-off financial contribution for transport, accommodation etc. in the amount of 10.000,- Kč, paid retrospectively by the faculty in the form of a scholarship 

The faculty will provide accommodation for 4 people in a shared apartment in Marseille. It is therefore necessary to count on shared housing. 

The dates of FAMU's stay at the festival July 8 – 13, 2025. 

Since we can support a smaller number of students than the number of accreditations offered by the festival, it is possible to obtain 4 additional accreditations without the possibility of additional financial support.  

If you are also interested in this option, please indicate it in the form. These accreditations will be offered to other applicants in order who do not make it to the first four selected. 

The call is OPEN for students of accredited study programs, waiting students and students in a doctoral programme. 

The call is CLOSED for students within the Erasmus+ program and in non-accredited programs, students who have already been supported by school calls for international festivals in the academic year 2024/25 and students studying in the 1st year of BA studies. 

Students applying for support to participate in FIDMarseille must have completed attendance during compulsory presentations/pitching for shared exercises of the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). 

How to apply: 

• Complete the online form here: https://forms.office.com/e/TkqWth6TRj (accessible from the school email) by May 9, 2025 (included). 

• Upload the approval of the department head (a screenshot of a confirming email, etc.) as an attachment to the form. 

• The selection will be based on the order of applicants who meet the above criteria. 

• Results will be announced on the faculty´s website by May 16, 2025. 

• Subsequently, students will be invited to an organizational meeting. 

A programme will be offered to a group of students during FIDMarseille: this will include two masterclasses (Radu Jude, Carolina Adriazola and José Luis Sepúlveda) during the festival, recommendations of films in the programme based on their studies and interests, and scheduled meetings on request with artists, directors and programmers. 

The group of students will be accompanied by  doc. MgA. Ondřej Vavrečka, Ph.D. 

The programme will be designed before the festival according to the students' interests and in collaboration with the FAMU teaching team. 

In recent years we have welcomed groups of students from ENSAD Paris, ENSBA Lyon, ESADSE Saint-Etienne, ENSBA Paris, ENSA Paris-Cergy, Villa Arson, Beaux-arts de Marseille, ESAD, TALM-site d'Angers, ESAD Valence, Fine Arts Nîmes, HEAR Mulhouse and Strasbourg, and in Europe SABK Karlsruhe, HFBK Hamburg, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, ECAM Madrid and KASK Ghent.
