JOURNEYS OF OUR FILMS

  • Two films produced by FAMU have been selected for one of the world’s most prestigious cinematographer festivals, EnergaCAMERIMAGE 2023. Scenes of Soul and Body, made by cinematographer Marcela Mencelová and director Ondřej Hošek, has been included in the student film competition category. Please Rise, a short political drama made by director Sheida Sheikhha and cinematographer Bruno Grandino, is included in the Panorama non-competition section.

  • The films Doubt, Stuck Together, Paradise on Earth to See, Electra, and Lights have been selected for the short film competition of the PÖFF Shorts festival in Tallinn. Rising Above, Dede is Dead, and Carp Xmass will be shown at the festival outside the competition.
  • Dede is Dead by Philippe Kastner was featured at the Warsaw IFF in the Family Cinema Weekend section.
  • Carp Xmass has won the grand prize for the best short film at the Seoul Animal Film Festival in Korea.
  • The Bogoshorts short film festival in Bogota will feature Piotr Jasiński’s Mimo in its international competition section.
  • My Paradise is Darker than Your Hell, a full-length documentary debut by Kateřina Dudová produced by Vojtěch Komrzý has won a special mention of the jury in the Czech Joy section of the Jihlava IDFF. The festival has also featured many other films made by FAMU students (the FAMU Presents, Fascinace: Exprmtnl.cz, Czech Joy, and Short Joy sections, as well as games by the game design students). We watched the festival closely and informed about our participation through our social media outlets.
