The Research Catalogue, basic Information

AMU offers all teachers and students access to a full RC account. This tool allows the publication of "expositions", which are alternatives to articles in academic journals. Expositions can take a wide variety of forms, from a simple blog to a complex interactive multimedia map.

How to get started and create expositions in RC

1. Create a basic account in the Research Catalogue

  • register an account in the RC
  • to create an account, use your AMU email address; you can change it to a private address later
  • this basic account allows you to review expositions and leave comments but you can’t create your own expositions

2. Email us with your account upgrade request

  • our email address: research.catalogue@amu.cz
  • we will connect your account to the AMU portal in the RC; this will upgrade it to a full account
  • with a full account, you can create expositions, share them, publish them, etc.

3. In the full account, click on the CREATE EXPOSITION button

You will find the button on your profile page after logging in to the RC.

4. Select the editor

After clicking on CREATE EXPOSITION, you need to choose which editor you want to start with. There are two general-purpose editors, graphical and block:

  • editor type block: Suitable for text dominated pages. You insert content in blocks. These blocks automatically adjust to the width of the monitor or other device on which the resulting page is displayed. This editor is less flexible for creating diagrams, maps, or for overlaying materials.
  • editor type graphical: Allows to create rich graphical pages where text and media (images, video, audio files) can be freely positioned on an infinite canvas. When displayed, the width does not adjust to the screen, the user scrolls through the page in all directions.
  • It’s possible to combine both graphical and block pages in a single exposition.
  • Below on this page you will find examples of expositions for inspiration.
