International Department of FAMU

BASIC CONDITIONS

Erasmus+ program enables mobility not only of students, but also of employees (academic and non-academic) for the purpose of teaching or training for a period of 2-60 days.

  • Employee mobility primarily aims to gain international experience with teaching abroad, or to share examples of good practice (e.g. in the development of foreign language study programs, etc.)
  • Language courses are not a priority of the program – with the approval of the head of the department / superior, only professionally focused language courses in accordance with the employee's job duties can be attended
  • The program does not support conferences
  • Any employee who has an employment contract with FAMU can apply

The Erasmus+ program offers two types of activities to employees:

  • Staff Teaching Assignment (STA)
  • Staff Trainings (STT)

Mobility is registered as a foreign business trip and the same rules for calculating foreign travel apply to both types of Erasmus+ activities.

Staff Teaching Assignment (STA)

  • the activity allows teaching staff of higher education institutions to teach at a foreign partner higher education institution in any field / academic discipline
  • teaching must take place for at least 8 hours / week
  • duration:
    • EU countries – 2-60 days
    • outside the EU – 5-60 days
  • can only be carried out at universities with which FAMU has an inter-institutional agreement, see FAMU PARTNER SCHOOLS

Staff Trainings (STT)

  • The activity supports the professional development of teaching and non-teaching staff of universities in the form of
    • training abroad (excluding conferences)
    • shadowing of an employee at the relevant workplace
    • listening to lectures/professional courses
  • duration:
    • EU countries – 2-60 days
    • outside the EU – 5-60 days
  • mobility can be carried out at any company or cultural institution
  • however, if the mobility takes place at a university institution outside of EU, it is necessary to have a concluded cooperation agreement with FAMU, see PARTNER SCHOOLS OF FAMU
    • examples: if you want to travel on an STT to the UK or the USA to a university, a partnership agreement must be signed with it; conversely, if STT mobility is carried out within the EU, a partnership agreement, contract (IIA) is not necessary.
  • a trip to a Blended Intensive Program (BIP) can also be reimbursed as STT

FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION

The employee receives a contribution to cover statutory per diems, accommodation, local public transport or other necessary ancillary expenses (course fees, entrance fees to public institutions, etc.). When calculating the contribution, the days of activities are included (i.e. usually excluding weekends and public holidays in the destination country), as well as one day for the trip abroad and one day for the return trip, if the employee needs additional days. Days off from work can also be considered a day of authorized activities (i.e. a day on which teaching or training takes place), provided that such a fact is documented. The day of authorized activities can be a travel day, if this results from the situation, i.e. especially for short trips to nearby destinations.

The amount of the monthly contribution is fixed by the duration and destination:
