Doctoral students can also apply for Erasmus internships. They can participate in standard long-term mobilities (study, traineeships), but also can apply for short-term mobilities more than other students. Basic conditions, financial conditions and how to apply can be found on the subpages of individual types of mobility. However, in general, the Erasmus program is more accommodating towards doctoral students.
In the case of both types of mobility, it is necessary to contact the partner institution and explore possibilities for cooperation and securing a supervisor, taking into account the specificity of doctoral studies.
The Erasmus+ program is governed by the Rector's Decree No. 03/2024 on the institutional provision of the Erasmus+ program at AMU and the recognition of studies within the framework of foreign student mobilities, which stipulates the rights and obligations of the student.
AMU doctoral students can apply for financial support five times a year for international short-term mobility, i.e. trips to conferences, workshops, or individual targeted research. The maximum length of stay is 10 calendar days. This is support for such mobilities that cannot be planned a year in advance and therefore cannot be financed from the Student Grant Competition, or whose duration is shorter than the minimum length of stay set by the rules of the Erasmus+ program.

The prestigious Fulbright scholarship programs, funded by the Czech and American governments, provide Czech citizens with the opportunity to study, conduct research, or teach in the United States. Individuals apply for scholarships directly to the Fulbright Commission, and scholarship recipients are selected through an open competition. Scholarships usually cover living expenses, a return airfare, and health insurance, as well as some other expenses (tuition or part of it, purchase of books, etc.).
The basic requirements for applying for a scholarship in any of the programs are Czech citizenship, permanent residence in the Czech Republic, and very good knowledge of English.
Other forms of international mobility are special intergovernmental agreements and programs. An overview of selected programs and links to individual institutions can be found on the subpage dedicated to international study programs.
