Resolution of AS FAMU of 18 September 2025 – announcement of a partial by-election to the Academic Senate of FAMU for one position in the Students’ Chamber and one position in the Teachers’ Chamber.

Since the membership of one member of the Students’ Chamber of the Academic Senate of FAMU (“AS FAMU”) has ended and there is no substitute member following the previous election, and since one mandate in the Teachers’ Chamber remains vacant following the latest election, AS FAMU is announcing a partial by-election in accordance with Article 3, clause (4) of the Election Rules dated 19 June 2025.

The partial by-election to AS FAMU will be held in a hybrid form on 25 and 26 November 2025 as follows:

  • 25 November: online at https://volby.amu.cz/ from 10:00 am to 12:00 midnight
  • 26 November: physically in the FAMU building, Smetanovo nábřeží 2, Room U6 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

One AS FAMU member is to be elected on behalf of the students for the term of office that ends on 11 April 2027, and one AS FAMU member is to be elected on behalf of the teachers for the term of office that ends on 13 March 2028.

All members of the academic community have the right to vote. Any member of the academic community of FAMU may run as a candidate with the following exceptions: the position of a member of the Senate is incompatible with the positions of the Bursar, Secretary, Dean, Vice-Dean, Vice-Rector, and Rector. Also, candidateship is incompatible with membership in the election panel. If a student also acts as an academic employee, they may only be elected to the Teachers’ Chamber. More information is available in the AS FAMU Election Rules.

The deadline for the nomination of candidates for AS FAMU in written form, including the proponent’s signature and the nominee’s written consent, is 20 October 2025, 12:00 noon, to be delivered to the attention of the Chair of AS FAMU in the secretariat of the Dean’s Office at FAMU. Nomination cards are available here. The list of nominees will be posted in the news section of FAMU’s website and on FAMU’s official notice board no later than 3 November 2025, and a plenary meeting of the academic community of FAMU will be held at FAMU Studio (and online) on 21 November 2025 (exact time to be announced).
