On February 15, 2024, at 5:00 PM, the plenary meeting of the academic community of FAMU will take place at the Reference Projection of the FAMU Studio (Klimentská 4) and online. The event will be simultaneously interpreted into English.
FAMU is facing four elections in the next two months. For various reasons, they are scheduled with short intervals: a partical by-election for a student senator position that became vacant last year, elections for the dean of FAMU, supplementary elections for the FAMU Academic Senate, and elections for the AMU Academic Senate. To enhance clarity, we have created a web special, ELECTIONS 2024, where you can find comprehensive information about everything related to the elections. Simultaneously, everything is planned as rationally as possible.
For example, the March elections for the academic senates of the faculty (AS FAMU) and the university (AS AMU) will take place in a single term. It depends on you whether you decide to run as a candidate or choose representatives to advocate for you in both academic senates. All elections are associated with plenaries of the academic community. In the first one (February 15th at 5:00 PM in Studio FAMU - reference projection), you will hear presentations from candidates for the dean's position, and you can ask them anything. Half an hour after the dean's presentation ends, you will have a similar experience with candidates for the partial by-election for the Academic Senate of FAMU for the position of a senator in the student chamber.
The elected candidate will, among other things, vote for the dean. Then there are regular elections for the faculty (AS FAMU) and the university (AS AMU). They will have their own plenary (March 1st at 5:00 PM in classroom U1, Lažanský Palace).
The academic community should participate in the public discussion with candidates in as large numbers as possible and find out their vision for the future of our school and what they are capable of doing for it. For student candidates: each of you can run in ALL three senate elections! Candidates from the teaching teachers can participate in both March elections.
It's important to pay constant attention to what's happening at the school. Elections are an opportunity to fully express your opinion.
Let's go for it!
