A) An application form is available online. 

Fill out the online application form and send an email to cdm@famu.cz to request the login credentials for the FAMU online platform, where you can upload all the required materials.

Upload the required materials stated in the following articles 2 - 8 according to the instructions found here and send an email confirming the successful upload to cdm@famu.cz

The applicant will receive a confirmation once the upload has been checked by the Admission Officer. 

Scan the pages of your passport that state your date of birth and full name.  

• Name it “Your_full_name_DCDM_2027_passport” and upload it.

• Name it “Your_full_name_DCDM_2027_CV” and upload it.

Written answers to the following questions:

 4.1 STUDY (500 words maximum)  
- What are your expectations for studying the DCDM program at FAMU?  
- What areas of study reflect your previous experience with artistic production?  
 

4.2 PERSONALLY RELEVANT ARTWORKS 
(Follow a simple rule - do not try to impress, we prefer it when you are honest).  

- Include three photographs of your choice that visually express your taste and inclinations and give a brief rationale (just a few lines) for each image.

- List three movie titles that represent you cinematically; your favorite, your beloved, admired, or, if you wish, despised movie, and write a brief justification for your choice.

- Name three books, novels, essays, dramas, literary products that best represent who you are, your tastes and inclinations, and include a brief motivational note. - At the end, write no more than ten lines about who you are.

4.3 GRADUATION PROJECT 

- Applicant submits a Graduation Project proposal (max. 600 words in total; film project described cannot exceed 30 mins in length). This should be a short, written description of their envisioned project – consisting of 2 parts – a synopsis and a creative vision.

• Put sections 4.1., 4.2. and 4.3. together in a pdf file and name it “Your_full_name_DCDM_2027_intent” and upload it.

A scanned certificate of payment of the application fee of 2 111 CZK (or the equivalent in EUR) to the account indicated below. 

• Name the certificate "Your_full_name_DCDM_2027_deposit" and upload it. 

• The payment in amount of CZK 2 111 should be made in prihlaska.amu.cz by credit/debit card- the bank transfer is a second option:

All of the following samples must be submitted to complete the application. 

6.1 A short fiction or documentary film directed by the applicant (up to 10 minutes in duration, up to 10 GB in size) 

• Please create a .doc or .docx with the link to your audiovisual work and name it “Your_full_name_DCDM_2026_FILM_title_of_the_piece” and upload it as previous files. 
• If the film is longer than 10 minutes, a 10-minute excerpt must be submitted. If the submitted film is longer than 10 minutes, the committee may decide to disqualify it.  On the document with the link, the starting point and ending point of the ten-minute excerpt must be clearly stated. 
• The applicant must be the sole director of the film. 
• The submitted film must include closing credits. 

6.2 A storyboard presenting an original narrative based on an “encounter” (exactly 16 photos or images, without text). The story must be clear from images alone. In addition, the images must not be taken from a film already made. 

• From the applicants we expect variety of shots with narrative purposes, simple but clear structure (beginning, middle and end) and stick to the premise of an encounter.
• All images must be uploaded as a .pdf and named “Your_full_name_DCDM_2027_storyboard". 

6.3 An audiovisual self-portrait (maximum two minutes, up to 3 GB in size).  

• Please create a .doc or d.docx with the link to your audiovisual work and name it “Your_full_name_DCDM_2027_selfportrait” and upload it as previous files. 

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:  

All audiovisual artistic samples must be uploaded to either Vimeo or Google Drive in HD and the files must be downloadable and the active link must be valid for the whole period of the admission process. 

Statutory declaration

• The applicant states whether they used AI or not. If so, they specify for what part of the admission materials and how, and briefly explain the process, including the specific names of the AI engines, softwares, etc. used. It includes all - the intent, self-portrait, storyboard, short film and Graduation Project. Please complete and upload the statutory declaration, which is part of these conditions (see attached). 

A copy of your Bachelor’s Degree diploma. If your Bachelor’s diploma is in English, there is no need to translate it. If your diploma is in another language, we require an English translation.

2. Please note: To enroll in September, you must undergo the diploma recognition procedure. (You do not need to upload the scan of the diploma if you do not have it yet – such as if you are in the final year of your bachelor’s degree.)
