Sylva Poláková is a film historian and curator. She works at the National Film Archive, focusing on experimental cinema, videoart, and other interdisciplinary art forms. Her interest in sustained and comprehensive care for moving image collections found good use in her leadership of the research project titled The Audiovisual Work Outside the Context of Cinema: Documentation, Archiving, and Access (videoarchiv-nfa.cz). She also works as a lecturer, creating curatorial programmes for Ponrepo Cinema as well as both domestic and international film festivals, collaborating with galleries and museums, and occasionally contributing to technical and specialised periodicals.
