Does your school have a bilateral contract with FAMU? Are you ready to join us not only in theoretical coursework, but also through assisting on practical film projects? Apply!
FAMU is involved in the EU´s Erasmus+ Programme, particularly in the subprogram for study exchanges. In this framework foreign students can be recruited from partner schools in the EU and Turkey. List of schools is posted on the website. Length of an exchange may be one or two semesters, application deadline is just one – mid-May each year.
During their stay, students get involved in practical projects of their colleagues from the Academy Preparation Program or
the Cinema and Digital Media program as assistants. In addition, they can join in a number of short and intense workshops called "modules". FAMU invites widely known and interesting people to give guest lectures or to lead practical workshops. Last but not least – our exchange students can attend the four-day November FAMUfest or they can participate in a one-week shooting workshop called CinemaDance. (The number of students is usually limited). To participate in the ERASMUS program, students must be studying for a degree or diploma at a tertiary-level institution and must have completed their first year. They also have to be a citizen of one of the countries in the wider Erasmus+ Programme. A second prerequisite relates to FAMU. The applicant must be a student of one of FAMU’s partner schools as mentioned above. Also please note that FAMU prefers to accept students of the following professions: sound, editor, set designer, costume designer.
FAMU accepts nominees from the partner schools only, usually up to the total number of 25 exchange students (Erasmus+ and Free Mover together, please note the numbers are much lower in the time of the pandemic situation). Every year we carefully select the participants from approximately 40 applicants.
Should you have any questions regarding the application procedure please contact Anna Šlajová – FAMU incoming exchange coordinator.
