PITCH_IT Workshop 18. - 20. January 2023, Prague
We would like to inform you of the upcoming PITCH_IT@Berlinale workshop whose Prague section will take place from 18 to 20 January 2023 at the Goethe-Institut, FAMU, and FAMU Studio.
Among other events, you can look forward to round tables with the title “What does it mean to be a filmmaker in the current world?” to be held at the Goethe-Institut. The topics will cover artistic freedom, censorship, authors’ visions, market pressures, and critical reflections on pitching practices. The public part of the programme will include the screening of Adam Koloman Rybanský’s graduation film Somewhere Over the Chemtrails in Lažanský Palace’s screening room.
PITCH_IT@Berlinale is a series of workshops targeting up-and-coming filmmakers from Hungary, Czech Republic, and Germany. The workshops are intended to encourage them to create and help them navigate the film industry. The project is organised by the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, FAMU, and Goethe-Institut. There was a call for the workshop recently, to which many of you responded and take part in the workshops as a result, most recently held in Tallinn, Estonia. A part of the Prague workshop’s programme will also be accessible to other FAMU students who will have an opportunity to get in touch individually with international PITCH_IT participants. Workshop attendees will be 17 young filmmakers (scriptwriters, directors, and producers) from Germany, Hungary and Czech Republic. The profiles of the participants are available at https://www.goethe.de/ins/hu/de/kul/sup/pib.html.
Mentors for the Prague workshop:
Lucie Králová (FAMU)
