Come and study animation at FAMU in Prague!

Immerse yourself in the world of indie animation , nurture your talent, acquire new skills, and draw inspiration from your peers and lecturers in the enchanting historical city of Prague!

Thanks to our intensive and still quite fresh one-year study program , FAMU’s unique learning environment rooted in decades of experience in teaching and training indie animation is now available to English-speaking applicants !

Experience hands-on training in classical animation techniques as well as state-of-the-art digital tools. In 2 semesters , you, as an aspiring author, will have the opportunity to develop and produce your own indie animated short film in a professional-like environment.

Our team of experienced lecturers will guide you and equip you with the knowledge and skillset necessary for this challenge . Under their supervision, number of internationally renowned shorts have already been produced, including Oscar-nominated " Daughter " by Daria Kashcheeva and Cilect Prize-winning " Love, Dad " by Diana Cam Van Nguyen.

Michaela Pavlátová , the head of the animation department and an Oscar nominee, multiple Annecy award winner, and recent recipient of the "French Oscar" César, along with her team, are looking forward to being your guides in the limitless realm of imagination – the realm of animation !
