CALL FOR ENTRIES TO PLUS CAMERIMAGE DOCUMENTARY FILMS COMPETITION "IMAGE OF THE WORLD - WORLD IN IMAGES"

We have a great pleasure to inform that the selection process for the documentary competition of the 17th edition of PLUS CAMERIMAGE, the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography has begun. The competition is organized in collaboration with Discovery Networks Central Europe and aims to recognize documentary film as a creative interpretation of the reality. Putting an emphasis on the visual and aesthetic aspects of the work, experts evaluate the best achievements in the field of cinematography, awarding the authors of photography of the competitive documentary films.

From this year on we have divided the documentary competition into 2 categories:

• Short Films - up to 60 minutes running time
  
• Feature Length Films - more than 60 minutes running time
  

Documentary entries for both categories will be submitted on a common entry form and will be qualified to the appropriate category by the organizers, based on the running time of the film. Each category will be judged by a separate jury.

PLUS CAMERIMAGE is the biggest international film festival devoted to the creation of a film image by the cinematographers. The aim of the competitions being a part of the Festival is to present films of high visual values which will be judged by the international Jury who will choose the authors of the best cinematography. The official programme of the Festival’s competitions will include:

• Main Competition (fiction films)
  
• Student Etudes Competition (fiction etudes)
  
• Polish Films Competition under the patronage of Plus network operator (fiction films)
  
• Documentary Films Competition - divided into 2 categories:
  
  • Short Films - up to 60 minutes running time
    
  • Feature Length Films - more than 60 minutes running time
    
• Music Videos Competition

Before submitting your entry, please read the Rules of the competitions available at our website. Film submissions can be made by filling the following online entry forms:

Main Competition Entry - Deadline: 4 September 2009
Student Etudes Competition Entry - Deadline: 17 October 2009
Polish Films Competition Entry (Polish version only) - Deadline: 30 September 2009
Documentary Competition Entry - Deadline: 5 October 2009

The call for entries to the Music Videos Competition will be announced at a later date.

For the Documentary Films Competition only films constituting a self-contained whole, produced after the 1st of January 2008, can be submitted to the selection. The entry will be accepted if the required materials specified in the Rules, accompanied by the Entry Number provided in the submission confirmation, are sent to the Organizer's address:
