IDFA Competition for Student Documentary.

The 22nd edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, the largest festival for creative documentaries in the world, will take place in Amsterdam from 19 – 29  November 2009. Each year, IDFA selects and screens more than 300 documentaries, running the gamut from international audience favourites to artistic experiments along the fringes of the genre.

Two years ago we started our competitive section IDFA Competition for Student Documentary.

As it is one of IDFA’s aims to discover new daring films and new talent we would like to welcome you to submit your student graduation film(s) for the IDFA Competition for Student Documentary at IDFA 2009. The IDFA Competition for Student Documentary jury will grant the IDFA Award for Student Documentary to the best student film (€ 2,500). Selection for this competition also automatically allows you to take part in the exclusive IDFAcademy programme during the festival.

Documentaries of any length that were finished after 1 August 2008 are eligible for IDFA 2009. There are no fees involved, not even if your film gets selected, but please keep our deadlines in mind: the first one coming up is 1 May, the second one is August 1.

The main regulations of the IDFA Competition for Student Documentary can be found on www.idfa.nl
