Cinema and Digital Media is a three-year Master’s follow-up programme focusing on Screenwriting, Directing and/or Cinematography, and open to anyone who has completed a Bachelor’s degree in any subject. The instruction is in English and the applicants must demonstrate their knowledge of English at the B2 level based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF) during the admission procedure. The application includes The Europass Language Passport, which can be completed here.
Applications and all other requisites for the admission procedure (in English) must be submitted in two identical copies on or before 5 March 2010 to the following address:

The admissions interviews will take place on 8th and 9th of April 2010 and will be held remotely using the Skype software. We will inform applicants about the technical details of the connection in a timely manner. However, it is certain now that for a successful data transmission an Internet connection with a minimal transmission rate of 8 MBPS will be necessary.
Applicants should be prepared for the fact that, as part of the online interview, they may be requested by the admissions committee to complete additional tasks immediately. For that purpose, applicants should have digital camera ready for use.
The application involves the following requisites:
1. Application form (download). Please complete it using a computer and send us signed hardcopy with photograph.
2. Two letters of recommendation from current or previous tutors outlining the applicant’s expectations and motivation for the studies and your success.
3. Your structured CV.
4. Master’s Degree project providing answers to the following basic questions:
- Why would you like to study in the Czech Republic?
- Why did you decide to apply for CDM?
- Which of concentrations of study reflects your previous artistic production experience?
- Which concentration do you wish to develop your creativity in? Directing, Screenwriting, or Cinematography?
- What work would you like to graduate with? (e. g. script, feature film, documentary…)

All audiovisual works shall be submitted in DVD format (with no region restrictions) and subtitled in English, unless spoken in English.
8. Another mandatory item that your application must include is a notarised copy of your Bachelor’s Degree diploma. If your Bachelor’s diploma is in English, there is no need to translate it – a notarial certificate of it will suffice. If your diploma is in another language, we require its translation into English with a notarial certificate, and please also include a simple photocopy of the original diploma.
Applications will be accepted for the admission procedure subject to the compliance with all of the aforementioned requisites. We kindly request all applicants to please ensure that all documents are submitted in duplicate, that non-English speaking films include English subtitles, and that they are submitted in right format.
If you apply please note that the payment of the tuition fee is a prerequisite for enrolment.
The tuition fee for the first academic year, 2010/2011 is EUR 16,000.
If the tuition fee is not paid all at once, the first instalment of EUR 8,000 needs to be paid before or on 1 September 2010. The full amount must be paid before or on 28 February 2011. The tuition fee for each subsequent year shall be determined before or on 30 June.
