The FAMU bachelor's film Bába written and directed by Zuzana Kirchnerová-Špidlová, produced by Kristina Dufková, and shot by Lukáš Hyksa has won the first prize at the prestigious Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival. The twenty minute narrative film deals with the traumas of an immature teenage girl forced into the role of caretaker of her infirm grandmother. Bába was the only entry from the Czech Republic accepted to this year's Cannes Festival. It is the fourth FAMU film presented at the Cinéfondation in Cannes in the last five years.
