Erasmus-Socrates Exchange Short Term Study Program

Conditions of Erasmus – Socrates Exchange Programs at the Department of Photography are specified below.

 

 Applicants for the Erasmus-Socrates Exchange Program have to submit the following:

·         Collection of photographs (portfolios) of their choice (including the finish and adjustment) which best represent their skills and creative talent,

·         basic biographical data and information about student’s activities and studies, including his/her technical skills as regards photographic devices and equipment, ability to work with 35mm and digital cameras, medium format camera, studio equipment, experience in the area of laboratory processing)

·         project – a brief, written idea about courses the applicant intends to attend and photographic work (project) the applicant wants to dedicate himself/herself to at FAMU and also specifying at which Studio.

 

The Department of Photography will evaluate the work, data and project presented and decides on admitting the student. For the capacity reasons the Department of Photography accepts maximum of 4-5 students for one semester. The Department of Photography reserves the right to admit such applicants who meet all the above mentioned requirements and whose submitted works prove their prerequisite for study.

Before starting the Program at the Department of Photography, an individual study program is set up for each exchange student. Programs are developed according to the student’s technical and creative abilities, possibilities of the Department of Photography. Students may attend lectures, presentations and projections organized by the Department of Photography, other FAMU Departments and FAMU International Program. Students may attend lessons and seminars and use the equipment of the Department of Photography only after making an arrangement with the Head of the Department of Photography and with the responsible lecturer and after setting up the study plan. Access to the Studios and darkrooms is limited because of the reduced possibilities of the Department of Photography. The technical equipment of the Department of Photography can only be used with respect to one’s study plan, one’s own abilities under the conditions stated by the Internal Guidelines of the Department of Photography.

Students are requested to bring their own basic photographic equipment (35mm camera, medium format) which allows them to complete their photographic ideas.

The Department of Photography does not provide students with accommodation or material for the completion of their photographic works.
