will be opening a new MA level study programme:
Photography Restoration Studio
This course specialises in the practical and theoretical study of restoration, conservation and the archiving of historical photographs. The aim of the course is to expand the understanding of vintage historical photography as a unique aspect of cultural heritage that is necessary to preserve. The course programme is structured to provide students with a wide range of information regarding both cultural and technical aspects of the history of photography, so that student will acquire the knowledge and skills that will enable them to employ proper restoring methods on vintage prints and negatives and other photographical material.
All course lectures will be provided in English.

or can be obtained in the Registrars Office of FAMU (Smetanovo nábř. 2, Praha 1, Czech Republic). Completed application forms must be delivered to the FAMU Registrars Office (in person or by mail).
Entrance examinations take place at FAMU (Smetanovo nábř. 2, Praha 1, Czech Republic).
The written part will consist of tests on basic knowledge in:
History of Photography,
Technique of Photography,
Photographic Chemistry.
Oral exams will follow.
Subjects such as the History of Photography, Chemical and Physical Technology and the Techniques of Photography, Historical Photographical Techniques, Work with Historical Materials and Applied Techniques as well as Restoring Workshops will comprise the degree programme. Aside from theoretical lectures, the programme will also include laboratory work and practical applications of the acquired knowledge.
